Why do I do this to myself.

The first thing you hear is nothing.

Though, it’s not nothing. It’s a ringing sound.

Everything feels fuzzy, fake. You think you might be dead. Your eyes open and there’s pain. You can’t make anything out. It’s too bright and the ringing turns into a buzzing sound that’s making your head hurt even more.

The window is blown out, the windshield is destroyed. You’re in your car. You’re still buckled. Your back hurts. Everything feels extremely heavy. Your tongue is swollen or something because even though you try to call for help or just say something, nothing works. Nothing moves.

You look down. A shock of red is soaking into the fabric of your white sweater.

There’s a man coming toward your car, he’s on a phone. You can’t hear anything he’s saying. It’s still too loud in your head. Why won’t that buzzing stop? And why is your face wet with some warm liquid?

You start to feel like you’re floating. You swallow hard and things start to get darker and fuzzier. You don’t know where that man went. Aren’t you supposed to be somewhere?

Rachel.

The ringing is back. You can’t really see anymore. Everything’s fading. It’s all black and your head slumps forward.

The last thing you hear is nothing.

And you’re on your way.
